Yo Favre: It Wasn’t Worth It

Interesting quote from Green Bay Minnesota QB Brett Favre in Peter King’s weekly Monday Morning Quarterback column:

Yeah, it’s worth it. Now people can see why I came back, and why I came back to this team. But I will say I’m relieved it’s over.

“Relieved it’s over” and “It’s worth it” aren’t exactly peanut butter and jelly when it comes to phrases the English language links together, Brett. You’ve become a laughing stock of the nation; undoubtedly, you went from near-universally popular gunslinger (even most Chicagoans secretly admired you) to near-universally detested waffler.

Unless your Vikings win the Super Bowl in February, or May, or whenever the damn thing is played now, the Lambeau Field boos will tragically become the footnote to what was your beloved career.

Excuse another Favre post, but the audacity of saying it was “worth it,” hours after defecating on millions of fans who bought your Wranglers, is frankly insensitive. I’m sick.

    About Me

A native of Tinseltown, I migrated to the Windy City in 2006 with an eye on an undergraduate education and a yearnin' for the American Dream. My first impression was the city's suffocating pathos, its sense that no matter what happened Chicagoland would inevitably lose again. And Grossman was our goat to scape. One part tragic hero, two parts Aeschylian protagonist: A genuine 21st century Oedipus (Rex). I miss my mancrush.
