The problem here, aside from the time issue I have commented on before, this is &quot;generic&quot; Republican vs. a &quot;generic&quot; Democrat.  There are no generic candidates, there are only real candidates.  The question is will an specific incumbent Democrat be beaten by a specific Republican challenger in a specific district or state.  This pole indicates that the general public is fed up with a generic congress but it does not mean that specific voters are going vote against their own incumbent member of congress.  If job loses and home foreclosures continue, I really doubt vast numbers of people are going to rally to the Republican standard.  These are the folks who are voting against extending unemployment insurance.  As I have said before, you cannot beat something with nothing.  What would a Republican challenger run on as a platform that would woo voters who are not &quot;blue cat&quot; Republicans?  Balanced budget and tax cuts?  They still got nothing.</description>
