Gallup: Party ID Gap Closes To 9 Points

The following isn’t exactly surprising given the President’s dropping approval rating, but it’s interesting to note that Republicans aren’t picking up the majority of the Party ID support, Independents are.

What that signals to me is that people still don’t want to be associated with the GOP.

Yes, Independents aren’t included in those numbers.

But they’re included in these…

Telling, yes?

If the Repubs think they can simply oppose Obama and pick up seats in 2010, well, they better think twice. Especially with a popular President and a woman like Palin picking up the headlines.

Here’s the question: What can the GOP do to get back in the game?

  1. collapse expand

The repub’s still don’t have any ideas (much less good ideas), still have only old white guys, still scream and yell foul while collecting checks from corporate lobby scum and voting against their constituents. And they’re still the party of NO.
i.e. no help for the poor, no global warming, no insurance for the poor, no schooling for the poor, no common sense. (and no the dem’s aren’t much better)
As a 30 year independent with seldom a decent pick to vote for I see this as a (very small) sign that people may be waking up to the corpocracy we live in…

    About Me

I run the multi-partisan blog Donklephant. If you never been before, it's a site where everybody is welcome to come and have an open, honest debate about the news of the day. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but it's always interesting.
