Palin’s Resignation Proves She’s A Lightweight
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any stranger with the whole Palin saga, well, buckle up because it’s about to get real.
It appears as if she’ll be stepping down in three weeks to focus on….?
Well, I think the reason is obvious, as Wash Post reveals…
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will resign her office later this month, according to several sources familiar with her decision, freeing her to build a national political team and travel the country in support of an expected 2012 presidential bid.
The first term governor is stepping down “so that she can take the fight for her issues elsewhere,” according to a Palin aide.
Palin’s decision comes amid polling that showed her losing altitude from the stratospheric heights to which she ascended following her election in 2006 but remained a strong favorite to win reelection.
“…take the fight for her issues elsewhere…”
Hmmm…
Okay, but really…why is she doing this now? Because she could have easily served out her term, which would have ended in 2010, and then started building her organization. The timing is incredibly suspect.
The answer may be found in the various ethics investigations she’s facing back home…
Palin has been dogged by a series of ethical complaints, many of which her allies consider as frivolous and has had to set up a legal defense fund to pay her bills.
Just this week, the Anchorage Daily News reported that these complaints against her administration had reached almost $300,000, much of that sum owing to the so-called Troopergate probe of Palin.
So I’m guessing that she’s scared of the repercussions stemming from Troopergate, but instead of mitigating the damage she has shone a spotlight on it. This is literally the worst move she ever could have made if she has presidential aspirations an demonstrates yet again that she’s simply not leadership material. You don’t resign your post because you’re worried about looking bad. Hell, she already spun an ethics investigation which found her guilty last Fall, so she could easily do it again.
However, if she’s doing this for her family, well, that’s a different story. But I think everybody’s guts are telling them that’s not the case. Not after we keep hearing about how politically ambitious she is.
Oh, by the way, she’ll apparently have more via Twitter…
Here’s the question: If Palin really is building a campaign for 2012, is this the right way to go about it?

[...] Seriously, if this is the reason she’s giving, well, I’ll just point back to the post I wrote earlier. [...]
