Mock elections result in mock revolution

russianvoteEarlier this week, I had a piece in Foreign Policy about the disputed regional elections of October 11 (they of the George Will campaign ads). It outlines how widespread reports of fraud led to the walk out and week-long boycott by the so-called opposition in the federal parliament. What does it mean for Russian democracy? Not much, but you’ll have to read the piece to find out why.

    About Me

Hi! I am a journalist who, for reasons of sentimentality and an abiding fascination with the absurd, decided to live and work in Russia for a year just as the country vies with Somalia for Most Un-Safest Spot for Journalists in the World. I will blog in a death-defying manner, dear reader. That is a promise.
