The end has no end

This image is superfluous, hilarious

I haven’t written one of these “goodbye” posts yet, but now seems like as good a time as any to bang one out.  Oh, and don’t get me wrong — this isn’t exactly goodbye yet.  I’ll be posting here for the next month or so — or for as long as this site exists — and then after that, well, it’s into the great wide open for this guy.  Oh no, I feel myself getting emotional.  Or maybe I just need a piece of nicotine gum.

First and foremost, I’d like to thank Lewis Dvorkin for launching a site like T/S, that actually compensated writers for their output.  Outlets that employ a large stable of contributors and also pay for content are as rare as they are fantastic.  Thanks for treating writers with respect, not like typing monkeys.

Also, big, big ups to both Coates Bateman and Michael Roston.  Thanks to Coates for taking me on, and to Michael for the support.  Other than the one phrase we’re not supposed to use around here, I’ve never been asked to tone down anything or refrain from going after anyone.  Once, Michael even called my liveblog of the State of the Union (which had so many swear words in it) “colorful.”  Oh, the Internet.  (Thank you both for all your hard work and long hours.)

And thanks to Chloe for sending me more stories than I could possibly write about.

I’m in the process of launching a new site where I’ll continue writing about the bleak future this country has in store, along with Blogging Molly and hopefully a few other T/S regulars.  More on that as it develops, but, take it from me, it’ll be a good one.  Until then, like I said, I’ll continue to post here with more or less the same frequency as always.

OK, that’s that.  Time to go back to Google reader and investigate the latest gay Republican scandal or whatever else is happening on this lazy Friday.

    About Me

I'm a stand up comedian and writer based out of Brooklyn, NY. My comedy sketches have been featured on The New York Times' humor blog and CNN, and I have previously contributed to The Onion.

My sister and I have a web series called John and Molly Get Along, which can be found on Youtube.

Sometimes I still wish I were in a punk band. Man, that was really fun.
