The ‘Yob Smack’ hero is Gulf War vet

This clip hasn’t really taken off over here, but it’s a bona fide viral sensation in the UK. And it’s turning the so-called Yob Smacker into a national hero:

The Sun, whose new media department has benefited from 200,000+ views of the above video, tracked down the Yob Smacker. He’s Jason Smith, a 35-year-old Gulf War vet who weighs 210 pounds and holds black belts in both karate and jiu-jitsu. As seen above, Smith dropped Les Andrews (described as the local “hard nut”) with one perfect blow.

The 23-year-old Andrews, incidentally, was arrested and “hit with a curfew for yobbery.”

Hero who beat up yob on video is revealed as Gulf War veteran with two black belts | The Sun.

UPDATE: The smacked yob has threatened to sue the Sun for humiliating him.
