New Craze: Parents letting children drive

That’s right a new craze is sweeping the continent, letting your young children take the wheel of the family car, filming it, and uploading it to YouTube.

The father says he thinks the whole thing has been overblown.

“They’re making it out as though as I killed someone,” the father, who calls himself Sylvain, said in an interview with veteran Montreal crime reporter Claude Poirier.

“I regret it all. It was a bad decision on my part, but come on.”

  1. collapse expand

When I lived in Iowa, kids this young, or younger on rare occasion, were driving, and well, but that was legal because it would be on several acres of privately owned land. Yes, it is a bit scary, but the context matters.

    About Me

I was born and raised in Peterborough Ontario, from there I've moved to London, Banff, Victoria and finally Qualicum Beach - I am confident I have found the best place in Canada to settle. I don't consider myself a writer, I only play one on the Internet - I started blogging years ago for my now-defunct website ThrowawayyourTV.com - Since then I've blogged for AOL and worked as a manager/trainer at Mahalo.com assisting writers in learning the ropes of Internet Research and web-writing. Away from the computer I work as a pay-on-call Firefighter here in town.
