Shellfish season canceled thanks to crappy fishermen

Seriously. Hundreds of fishermen crapped enough in a river that their human waste contaminated the shellfish down river. Only idiocracy fishermen would shit in the same river they pull their food out of.

But less than three weeks after the fishery opened Aug. 1, the fishermen’s conduct led the state Department of Health to enact an emergency shellfish-bed closure Aug. 18 at Annas Bay, near the mouth of the river, to protect the public from fecal coliform contamination in shellfish.

“I look at this as a spill,” said Bob Woolrich, shellfish specialist with the state Department of Health.

  1. collapse expand

I can’t believe this is America, or the 21st century for that matter. I would have thought that humanity has learned, shit is bad. These morons deserve to have their season ruined.

    About Me

I was born and raised in Peterborough Ontario, from there I've moved to London, Banff, Victoria and finally Qualicum Beach - I am confident I have found the best place in Canada to settle. I don't consider myself a writer, I only play one on the Internet - I started blogging years ago for my now-defunct website ThrowawayyourTV.com - Since then I've blogged for AOL and worked as a manager/trainer at Mahalo.com assisting writers in learning the ropes of Internet Research and web-writing. Away from the computer I work as a pay-on-call Firefighter here in town.
