NHL Star beats up cabby over 20 cents

Wrath of KanePatrick Kane is a relatively young NHLer, drafted 1st overall in 2007 by the Chicago Blackhawks. Kane has played two full NHL seasons already earning over $5 Million in NHL salary, let’s not forget the millions he got for becoming the spokesperson for EA Sports NHL10 video game. So perhaps beating up a cabby over 20 cents was a bad idea.

This morning Patrick Kane and his cousin handed a cabby $15 for a cab fare that was worth $13.80, the NHL star demanded exact change, the cabby gave him $1 and told Kane he didn’t have 20 cents. Kane did what any other rational human being would do, choked out the cabby and left his face with two black eyes. Allegedly of course, I am sure this story will go away after the Kane’s pay the cabby and the city of Buffalo an adequate sum.

Here is the report from TSN.ca

Obviously not the worst thing an athlete has done, and not the worst thing one of them will do. The amount of money and pride involved is nothing.

      About Me

I was born and raised in Peterborough Ontario, from there I've moved to London, Banff, Victoria and finally Qualicum Beach - I am confident I have found the best place in Canada to settle. I don't consider myself a writer, I only play one on the Internet - I started blogging years ago for my now-defunct website ThrowawayyourTV.com - Since then I've blogged for AOL and worked as a manager/trainer at Mahalo.com assisting writers in learning the ropes of Internet Research and web-writing. Away from the computer I work as a pay-on-call Firefighter here in town.
