Jon Stewart takes on the Birthers

America’s most trusted newsman, Jon Stewart, took on a story that I have been following for the past week. Birthers, the sub-culture of Idiocracy where the people are so ashamed of their racism they need an excuse to call the black guy “un-American.”

Here is just a portion of the 8-minute segment. Six months into the presidency and it appears all major news networks are still willing to give time to this topic. The clip below presents a great piece of the failing media. On July 17th, Kitty Pilgrim, filling in as host of the Lou Dobbs show debunked the birth certificate theories by going as far as finding two Hawaiian newspapers that announced Obama’s birth back in 1961. Three days later,  Dobbs, back in the anchor chair, said that the questions about Obama’s birth certificate have yet to be addressed. Wow.

  1. collapse expand

    Jon Stewart is the anti-Idiocracy.

  2. collapse expand

That’s why people trust Stewart. He doesn’t try to present both sides of a story where the truth is one-sided.

  3. collapse expand

The sad, telling irony here is that Stewart is the common sense foil to the ‘legitimate’ media’s CIRCUS. This is such a freaking non-issue that will never stick (like say for instance the fact that GWB is a Moron).

    About Me

I was born and raised in Peterborough Ontario, from there I've moved to London, Banff, Victoria and finally Qualicum Beach - I am confident I have found the best place in Canada to settle. I don't consider myself a writer, I only play one on the Internet - I started blogging years ago for my now-defunct website ThrowawayyourTV.com - Since then I've blogged for AOL and worked as a manager/trainer at Mahalo.com assisting writers in learning the ropes of Internet Research and web-writing. Away from the computer I work as a pay-on-call Firefighter here in town.
