Meet the David Letterman Protesters

Activism is an important part of a Democracy, as we’ve seen recently in Iran. It begs the question, what would somebody protest in an Idiocracy?

The setup to this protest was David Letterman telling a bad joke. He joked about one of Sarah Palin’s daughters having sex with Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees, to which the Palins took exception and assumed Letterman meant 14-year old Willow. He claims he meant the 18 year old daughter, we think it’s fair to believe him.

David Letterman apologized for the confusion and the Palin’s accepted; end of ordeal right? Nope, bring on our Idiocracy Protest!

Drunken Car Surfing Never Ends Well

‘Car surfing’ is possibly the dumbest thing anybody can do. Sure, it takes a lot of balls to do it, and we can respect that. When forced to decide whether you should car surf or not, remember that the chance of a face full of concrete always outweighs the coolness factor.

It is one thing when teenagers do it in parking lots to impress girls, but it’s another when 34-year old men do it to impress girls. This story from the wonderful state of Alaska is just that, a 34-year old car surfer hanging out on the hood while his girlfriend drives. Let the record show he was drunk and his parents appear to have expected his death.

The truck was moving at 60-70 mph.

The woman told Retynski’s family that she “lost” him along the road. The woman looked for Retynski but was unable to find him.

She headed to a nearby campground for the night and contacted Retynski’s brother, who found the body the next day.

The woman told troopers she had not been drinking alcohol but that Retynski had been.

Ipsen said troopers could not speculate whether any charges could be forthcoming for how the incident was reported.

“Charges are up to the District Attorney’s office,” she said.

News of Retynski’s death was not entirely unexpected.

“This is Roman,” Ruth Retynski told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. “He was the daredevil of the family.”

    About Me

I was born and raised in Peterborough Ontario, from there I've moved to London, Banff, Victoria and finally Qualicum Beach - I am confident I have found the best place in Canada to settle. I don't consider myself a writer, I only play one on the Internet - I started blogging years ago for my now-defunct website ThrowawayyourTV.com - Since then I've blogged for AOL and worked as a manager/trainer at Mahalo.com assisting writers in learning the ropes of Internet Research and web-writing. Away from the computer I work as a pay-on-call Firefighter here in town.
