In reacting to any revelation such as this one involving an alleged assassination attempt by Osama bin Laden aimed at a U.S. president, it's incumbent upon the author and the readers of that author to logically evaluate the quality of the information.

I will be reading the book by Ken Gormley as soon as it's available to try to determine how he thinks he knows what he published.

Naturally, the same applies to the alleged wrongful convictions I write about on my T/S blog. Whenever I hear from anybody about an apparent miscarriage of justice, it's my duty to figure out how my source could know what she says she knows.

I think the article is well written until the final paragraphs when the mantra of: 'no one could have predicted that terrorists would hijack planes and fly them into buildings'.
Seriously, hasn't this been Debunked by now. Did the Military not only know of these plot(s) using airliners, but was actually running war games before and even during 9/11.

First, for the fuller account of the fiasco that was America's non-response to bin Laden, check out a Weekly Standard article (of all things) from January 2008 called "Show Stoppers."

Clinton asked the Pentagon TWICE for an action plan against bin Laden. The Pentagon, which considered terrorism a matter of force protection only, invoked the Powell Doctrine and "priced it out of the market" by only returning action plans using 20,000 troops or more.

As Clinton was already dealing with the Monica nontroversy, he asked for more politically palatable options. The result was a missile strike that amounted to little more than a fireworks display.
