Discovery unearths proof that cats are better than dogs
CAIRO – Egypt said Tuesday that its archaeologists have unearthed a Ptolemaic-era temple dating back more than 2,000 years, that may have been dedicated to the ancient cat goddess, Bastet.

Take that, dog people! I don’t see any of your favorite animals hailed as a deity. This, therefore, should put an end to the eternal debate over which is better, dogs or cats. Clearly, cats have reigned supreme for at least 2,000 years and continue to prove their superiority. Just this week, a suburban Chicago cat saved the life of its family by awakening them during a house fire.
Oh, I know, dogs have saved many lives too, as have rabbits, pigs, goats, whales and other animals. They’re not dumb. They know that if you’re dead, it’s going to be much, much harder for them to get food. Of course they also love us because we dress them up in costumes and make them take yoga. Oh no, wait. That’s why they hate us.
Cat haters say the furry felines are aloof, too independent or claw and bite at little or no provocation. Maybe so. But has a dog ever had multitudes worship them as they held a scepter, pranced around in a crown and made humans do their bidding — or whatever it is that goddesses do? Didn’t think so.
Therefore there can be no more squabbling. It’s time to stop this cat fight and admit that felines, with their regal history, deserve to be top dog of the Animal Kingdom. Just don’t tell the Queen Bee or the Lion King.

I love cats too… they’re one of my favorite animals.
…but what if we like cats so much because there is a parasite controlling our minds? It sounds crazy, I know, but there is plenty of scientific evidence to suggest that this might be the case…

I’m not surprised. Cats are clever little darlings, aren’t they? They even use their poop to get their way.

There’s no way you could be immune to the charms of cats after you see this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFoidIMqWGY
In response to another comment. See in context »The Egyptian god Anubis was represented as a half-man, half-dog deity. Originally, it was a jackal, or wild dog; over time, it turned into a common dog. The Greeks has Kerberos, the divine dog guarding the gates of Hades. In Rome, it became Cerberus.
