Was Nazi Doctor Behind Brazilian Twin Baby Boom?
Here’s a conspiracy theory for ya: did escaped Nazi doctor Josef Mengele carry on his sadistic experiments long after World War II? Know as the Angel of Death, Mengele, spent years doing bizarre medical experiments on twins at Auschwitz in an attempt to increase the building of a blond-haired, blue-eyed master race for the furor.
Here’s where the conspiracy comes in:
“Deep in the Brazilian outback in a tiny town among the 80 households in a one-square-mile area are reportedly some 38 pairs of twins. Blond, blue-eyed twins. Bizarre and inexplicable, could they be the product of Mengele’s machinations?”
Sounds pretty freaky being Mengele fled Germany after WWII for South America. Some citizens of the town of Cândido Godói recall visits from a traveling German doctor who provided mysterious potions and drugs. As the conspiracy goes, the doctor was actually Mengele in disguise carrying on his Nazi twin experiment deep in the heart of Brazil.Or thus the thesis of Argentine historian Jorge Camarasa conspiracy-laced book Mengele: The Angel of Death in South America. Yes, the book states that Mengele created “Twin Town” in Brazil!
Needless to say this Mengele/Brazilian twin connection pisses off the locals. (Would you like it if people referred to your peaceful, tropical town as a large Nazi experiment? No sir-ee.) That why further research was done by Brazil’s Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.
Before you can say the Annunaki reptilian race is really behind all this, Cândido Godói is filled with descendents of German immigrants. According to baptismal records, the town’s history of abundant twin bearing stems back to 1927–long before Mengele could meddle his Nazi hands into Brazilian fertility. No surge in twinning occurred during the 1960s when the fabled local Mengele experiments were supposed to take place. Also, the high rate of Cândido Godói twins still carries on to this day–ruling out the Nazi doctor connection.
The research concludes that the high number of locals twins sprouted up due to a combination of genetics and environment (lots of strange pesticides–though no reports of secret Nazi pesticides).
Still people, like conspiracy author Camarasa, want to believe that Mengele was behind the town’s twins. Camarasa stated:
“There is still no convincing scientific explanation of the phenomenon. There are only hypotheses, and mine is one of them.”
