Kansas and Villanova were supposed to meet in the finals

My bracket is ruined and I have Northern Iowa and St. Mary’s to blame. Those little sprites.

Now I have to try and follow Jody Diperna’s words of wisdom for a sports fan with a loser’s bracket. But rationalization has never been my strong point.

I also find this infuriating. Doesn’t help that I hate basketball. Now I hate it even more for costing me 20 dollars. What a joke. Cool vid though. Purple, you say? I will keep that in mind.

I have talked about N. Iowa all year, but sadly didn’t have the guts to pick them. So I suppose my bracket wins since I still have my championship winning team in the tournament. The third, and I suppose original, GK never posted him bracket so if he does now I call shenanigans. Guess I’m the true GK!

Graham, truly I am sorry. I can feel your pain even from all the way up in the top 10.

It seems there’s something to your “color” theory. In my case I put my two favorite colors head-to-head in the finals (Duke Blue Devils and Syracuse Orange) and took orange to win (obviously).

You know, the homer in me wanted to pick WVU over Kentucky. But I didn’t. (I also had Nova, K. State and Kansas in the Final Four.) Which just goes to show, I am a terrible predictor of things. Next year, I’m going to try the George Costanza method — whichever team my instinct tells me to pencil in, I will write in the opposite.

    About Me

When I was fifteen, my baseball coach condemned me to a stands-bound life. "Graham, you're a pretty good fielder," he said. "But unfortunately it's easier to teach kids how to field than it is to show them how to hit." Stung by this unceremonious end to my baseball career, I trained my crosshairs on his breed. Over time, I have come to realize that he isn't unique, American sports are full of coaches just like him....

Recently, I have written weekly Yankee columns for the Bronx News Network blog, and articles for the Norwood News, a Bronx newspaper, as well as Sumter, SC's newspaper, The Item. I am currently a Master's candidate at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.

It’s not written by me, but I like it a lot.
