In my dim childhood memories, Jan, I remember the idled "moving sidewalks" on the ramps to the upper deck. Of course, for too many years, that lung-taxing ramp climb wasn't necessary -- the Cubs sometimes closed the upper deck for lack of fans. Now, they've got to find ways to get people up there other than the ramps. I know Wayne has a disability and it's tough for him. I'm sure Ricketts has some ideas for this issue other than "go to Comiskey Park," as MacPhail once told me when I asked him about an elevator.

Love the article, George. I have a sentimental attachment to the manual scoreboard & love the idea of leaving that alone, but everything else -- especially more elevators & addition of escalators -- would be wonderful. Those ramps seem steeper than when I was a kid -- :o)
My husband dittos your idea about the men's rooms -- I'll take your word for it.)

Thanks, Ziola. The bleachers, ivy and scoreboard are fine where they are now. It would be difficult to move the ballpark west as you suggest.

This is a great article! I think the cubs should build a park on the land to the west of Wrigley instead of the triangle building. I have more on the idea here:
