Censorship fail? #GFW is trending on Twitter
#GFW, tweet-speak for ‘Great Firewall of China,’ has been trending on Twitter for the last couple hours.
This is odd, since Twitter is banned in China.
You can follow the conversation here. Here are some of my early favorites. (UPDATE: As of 9:00 EST or so, it’s off the list. Justin Bieber is more important, apparently.)

we can use proxy to login in twitter, such as ssh.or use interfaces of twitter’s api, such as dabr.
You make a good point. Thanks for clarifying.
Chinese netizens can use Twitter, but only by using a VPN (virtual private network).
As a result, a relatively small number of people (per cap) use Twitter. This makes the #gfw trend (short as it was) all the more remarkable.
Do you think # trends make a difference? Or is it just a game?
