True story. A performance of Mamet’s “The Old Neighborhood” about his childhood in a Jewish, North side neighborhood. It was a Sunday matinee, in Skokie, IL.
Main character: Well, I didn’t marry a Jew.
Older Woman in Audience: You should be ASHAMED of yourself!
I’ve never seen anyone break character like that.
