Religious nut Michele Bachmann turns on the prayer juice

Here is Tea Party favorite Michele Bachmann doing her impression of an evangelical preacher. Pray for the Senators who have lost their way, and long live the patriarchy! Long live the new theocracy!

What are the sins Bachmann is saying she has committed, exactly? We know she thinks it’s a sin to work for health care reform and to talk to one’s enemies (Thank you, Jesus!), but what does she consider her own personal failing?

Utterly ridiculous and total, and complete, nonsense.

Although Mr. Knowles, I did pray that God come down, while you are sleeping, and trim that ’stache off your face.

Lemme know how it works out for ya!

  2. collapse expand

What a religious crock of crap that was. I can’t believe that an organization named the “Family Research Council” would be opposed to extending health care to those who need it.

And it’s amazing that they stand there praying for someone to guide them and show them the answers – which they clearly don’t have themselves and yet they’re convinced the answer God has for them isn’t to pass the healthcare bill! It seems a little like “doctor shopping”.

I think everyone in the video looks like a friend of Ted Haggard!

    About Me

I've published two novels: The Secrets of the Camera Obscura (Chronicle Books), and The Third Eye (Nan A. Talese/Doubleday). I'm currently working as a journalist for AOL's Sphere. For the past three years I also spouted political opinion for AOL's Political Machine, which I also helped edit. My non-fiction has appeared in places like Men's Vogue, The Wall Street Journal Magazine, USA Today, Newsday, Travel + Leisure, GQ (Spain), and Vanity Fair (Italy). I've dabbled with short stories, publishing in Nerve and a few small journals.

The other half of my split personality finds me playing a variety of instruments for a variety of bands, and writing songs for film soundtracks.
