You are partly correct, I do watch FOX, but I also watch CNN, MSNBC, and I actually read newspapers. To formulate an opinion based on one source would be stupid. Unfortunately, a lot of people do just that. I am only relaying what experiences I have encountered with people I know and if you want to disregard anything I have to say based on one news outfit that I watch go ahead. That tells me a lot about you.

Val, stay with it. Anyone who thinks this is nothing but a tantrum is underestimating the anger and concern over a semi tyrannical government evolving here. I applaud all the “tea partyers”.

I have no problem with people taking to the streets to protest this or that. You don’t like taxes? Fine, demonstrate till the cows come home.

But, please, you really give yourself away with the whole voting present thing. This is a Republican movement. Your rhetoric is right out of the FOX playbook.

Yeh, that 39% is pretty impressive. You can call it a tantrum or you can call it people expressing their point of view. I think it’s pretty cool to see a nonviolent protest from people who have been too quiet for too long. I don’t know if they voted for President Obama or not, but I do know a lot of people who did vote for President Obama and they weren’t sure what his policies would be…it’s pretty hard when your voting record consists of “present”.

Hey Val, stay with it!!! You are so right. Those who think yesterday was a “tantrum” truly do not understand the anger and disgust with our federal government- not just obama. These Elected people in DC need to be constantly reminded that they work for us!!! We do not work for them- there is a bit of tryanical behavior coming from some of our elected officials. I applaud those who “tea partyed” yesterday.

The congressional approval rating is the highest it has been in quite a while, actually. And it’s rising. I don’t think all of what happened was silly, but in the absence of better ideas, the tea party thing still strikes me as something of a tantrum.

Seriously, I doubt that many of those at the demonstrations actually voted for Obama. Why would they have? The rhetoric they use about big government goes right in the face of everything Obama said he would do, and is now doing, during the campaign.

The reason I commented today was because I couldn’t believe how the media was misrepresenting what took place yesterday and how the protesters were portrayed as right wing extremists (did you see CNN?). The protesters were Dems, Reps, and Independants who are fed up with our federal government (congressional approval rating of 37%). I agree with you, we need to vote the career politicians out of office and have term limits. In fact, I even emailed Nancy Pelosi after she approved the $4,700 pay raise and politely asked her to decline it along with the other members of Congress. My comments are directed at the people who think what happened yesterday was silly (Rachel Maddow) and who take the “Tea Party” symbol so literally they can’t see it’s just not about taxes, but an environment of power and greed on both sides.

I have to disagree with your comments and say that they are out of line. I also have to say that the politicians have been, for many years, out of line on this issue of taxes. Here we are, the American people, loosing our jobs, loosing our homes, loosing our retirements, loosing our health care, and the cost of living going up, just to name a few. What have the politicians lost in all this? Do they give up anything, small cut in pay? No, they still get their raises and life goes on as they know it as they put us further into debt. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue; this is an issue for the American people. We WANT Change…..We’ve lost our jobs….Let them loose too. Aol has reported that an upwards of 250,000 people nationwide attended the TEA parties; that is a joke. Report the truth..In Bellingham, WA (a small community) it was estimated over 4000 people. Now that is a lot of people. Our countries news agencies need to get on the ball and learn to present the facts as they are and not how the government wants them presented……
