I’ve been paid on-time, in the correct amount, every single month since I started here since last January, so thanks guys! Don’t let haters get you down.
Yeah, I’ve got no idea what this guy was talking about. I’ve been treated fairly and professionally since the day I signed on here.
Send ‘em to me…I’ll straighten them out! Sounds like some sour grapes at work. I don’t think I even knew this guy was a contributor.
I just posted the following on Appell’s blog site:
Not only have I received all the payments promised in a timely fashion, when I changed my email of record for payments through PayPal they contacted me to let me know there was a problem. They chased me down to pay me!
Accusing someone of abusing YOU is a serious allegation. Even if the events you recounted happened exactly as you said, to my ear it does not rise anywhere near a level to justify an allegation of abuse. But you said T/S abuses writers, plural. I challenge you to present other writers who can claim abuse, and in the absence of that I humbly request that you offer an apology.
I also haven’t ever had a problem with payment. I started as an alpha tester, way back when, and I’ve always received my monthly check when they were due.

This is insulting to anyone whoever wanted to abuse a writer. The bar is so low now, it’s no longer worth the effort…
I’d like to add something from a member (non-contributor) perspective:
I noticed Mr Appell’s parting blog entry in the Latest Network Activity section and followed the link to his blog. After reading his accusations, I decided to check out the other side of the story.
I took Coates up on his offer to answer any questions on the matter. He replied quickly to my email and even offered to discuss it with me on the phone (something that was unnecessary as he answered all my questions via email.) I could not be more pleased with Coates’ willingness to make sure a member’s concerns were addressed.

(That said – If Matt, Rick, Allison, Caitlin, and others I follow start having trouble – I’ll be on the first fucking bus outta here!
