Regarding Jeff Goldstein and Protein Wisdom

I am currently working on an article which, though it will not be finished until a bit later this weekend, has prompted Jeff Goldstein to announce that he may be shutting down his blog Protein Wisdom, itself a staple of the political blogosphere for nearly a decade. I’m not entirely sure why he’s putting the brakes to a successful blog simply because I’m planning on making fun of some of the people who contribute there in the process of making a point about the future of foreign relations – which, incidentally, is what I’m haphazardly trying to do – but it’s obviously his decision.

As I’ve explained to him and others, I will link to and address any responses, no matter how deranged or ridiculous, that anyone associated with the blog would like to make. But, as I’ve also explained, I am indeed going to be making several people look really, really bad. This is a terrible shame, but of course I need examples if I’m going to prove my thesis.

The piece will most likely appear here Saturday evening.

Update!

This article would be a lot easier to finish if certain people would stop giving me additional material. Protein Wisdom contributor Darleen Click is now asserting that the boy Obama “safe schools” czar Kevin Jennings advised two decades ago after being informed that he had been sexually involved with an older man was a “minor.” Indeed he was, in terms of voting and the draft. But in terms of sex, which is what we’re actually talking about here, he was 16 at the time – the age of consent in Massachusetts. All of which is to say that Jennings is guilty of having failed to report to police something that was not a crime. Still, it warms the heart to see the gang at Protein Wisdom taking an interest in the well-being of a gay person for once.

Yet Another Damned Update!
Goldstein has edited the comment that I discussed above, removing the part about him supposedly thinking of shutting down his blog; the original version that I refer to in this post may be seen here.

I don’t understand why you don’t go get your example thingies from a dirty socialist blog like that juicy balloon one. They would be just as hostile to you as anywhere else if you wanted them to be.

Well, I think you might could be being precipitous. Over time, truth and fairness and good sense always prevail at Protein Wisdom. It’s neat how that works.

You just aren’t very patient I don’t think. You drop in for a day and then you’re gone, sometimes for many moons.

oh. Carly on iCarly has a friend what got born on a bus. Sam. Here’s her blog. It’s kind of disturbing.
