And why not read Matt Taibbi’s Rolling Stone piece on the healthcare issue? He had this thing down weeks ago. Looks like much of what he said we could expect will indeed come to pass.

Yes, indeed I can. I mentioned some at the end of the article. Kaiser Health News has done a really good job showing how proposed healthcare reform will affect typical families over here. Additionally, check out Trudy Lieberman’s work at the Columbia Journalism Review.

I’m not surprised you’ve had a tough time selling thoughtful analysis to editors. Try blathering about superficial personality traits.

Can you name any American journalist in any medium you think has done a good job? If so, I’d like to go read it.

It’s easy to keep hammering these people, but we both know it’s their bosses — the producers and editors who decide what’s shown to us — who are the ultimate gatekeepers of tone and content.

I’ve tried many times to pitch detailed and thoughtful stories on some of this and simply gave up; no one wanted them.
