If Glass-Stegall is not reinstated this crisis will happen again and it won’t take another eighty years.

True. William J Black wrote a very good book called The Best Way to Rob a Bank Is to Own One in which he described what could have been done to prevent the 1980s S&L disaster. He emphasizes that the US was lucky it avoided a giant financial collapse back then, but warned a worse disaster would follow if immediate action wasn't taken to regulate the economy. Well, we see what happened. How long before the US gov't decides to learn from its mistakes?

Yes. Yes. Yes. I caught the Post story this morning and hoped you would write about it. Thank you, this is the sanest and potent post I have read about on our crisis and gets right to the heart of the issue. If Glass-Stegall is not reinstated this crisis will happen again and it won't take another eighty years. It was and is the strongest stopgaps in preventing economic meltdown, in curbing the music of greed wall street was dancing too. Damn I want everyone to read this. This campaign against American workers and industry to favor Wall Street and Banks began in the seventies and has come as close to destroying this country as I ever hope to see. Speak the truth girl and speak it loud.
