And on the other hand: some surprising Cheney news

“On the question of whether or not Iraq was involved in 9-11, there was never any evidence to prove that,” he told the “On The Record” host in a joint interview with his daughter Liz. “There was “some reporting early on … but that was never borne out,” Cheney said. “George … did say and did testify that there was an ongoing relationship between al-Qaeda and Iraq, but no proof that Iraq was involved in 9-11.”

via Cheney: “There Was Never Any Evidence … Iraq Was Involved In 9/11″ (VIDEO).

Well, then! That sounds like an admission of guilt, Dick. I’m loving this “Confessional Cheney,” in which he admits all his flaws and makes amends by supporting gay marriage, demanding the release of torture papers, and admitting he’s a war criminal.

Now, some may argue that having to talk with Greta van Susteren is punishment enough. I disagree. Leading the country into disastrous multiple wars based on falsified intelligence is (sorry Neo-Cons) a crime, and warrants at least a blue-ribbon investigative committee.

Let’s get the ball rolling, already. Even Cheney seems eager to share his sins with the world. Despite Susteren’s best efforts to regurgitate a series of inane fluff questions, Cheney repeatedly steered the interview to “the dark side,” as he’s so fond of saying.  He can’t wait to talk about this stuff, so let’s get him before an audience and stick a microphone in his face.

If we can drag a president through the mud over a blow job, Congress can ask Cheney a few questions about helping to launch an illegal war.

  1. collapse expand

I thought ‘we’ went to Iraq 2003 because of some hear-say of Al Qaeda in Iraq and mainly because of the “threat” of Iraq’s secret and still invisible Weapons-of-Mass-Destruction arsenal, and as always the oil.

Iraq was never from what I’ve heard from the Bush mouthpiece, about Iraqi collaboration with Al Qaeda for 9-11, they may only have chase some Al Qaeda ghosts to dump Iraq into their Axis-of-Evil hitlist.

9-11-Iraq connection or not, Cheney could do with a holiday to Spain.

    About Me

I co-host Citizen Radio, the alternative political radio show. I am a contributing reporter to Huffington Post, Alternet.org, and The Nation.

My essay "Youth Surviving Subprime" appears in The Nation's new book, Meltdown: How Greed and Corruption Shattered Our Financial System and How We Can Recover beside esssays by Ralph Nader, Joseph Stiglitz, Barbara Ehrenreich, and Naomi Klein, who I'm told are all important people.

    G. Gordon Liddy once told me my writing makes him want to vomit, which is the greatest compliment I've ever been paid ever.
