Everyone Is Trying To Kill The Children

NEVER incorporate your kids.

As we all know, The Children are our future. We are supposed to be teaching them well, and letting them lead the way. What are are not supposed to be doing is killing them. But apparently parents, quacks, and politicians across the globe have not gotten that memo!

In Ireland, three (real) doctors found that the use of untested “complementary” and “alternative” treatments of children is on the rise across the developed world. The doctors, writing in the Irish Medical Journal, say their fellow real doctors should probably read up on some of these treatments, so they can tell patients the risks involved (when the risks involved are even known, because lots of this shit has never actually been subjected to research into safety).

Meanwhile, hero science journalist Simon Singh is in Australia, waging war on homeopathy. Homeopathy has been in the news, out there, because a local homeopath was convicted of manslaughter when his daughter died of a severe case of eczema. See, they treated her homeopathically, and then she died, because homeopathy is bullshit.

And in less life-threatening but still infuriating news: Iowa is trying to sneak creationism and prayer into public schools, and the UK’s Shadow Education Minister would like the kids to go to wacky occult Steiner schools.

So teach your children well, parents! And take them to real fucking doctors, when they’re sick, please.
